The gap on the shelf
An empty peg on a quiet Tuesday. The customer doesn't ask. They go up the road, and they take the rest of their order with them.
For UK building-materials suppliers, merchants and distributors
25 years supplying the trade. I've sold for manufacturers, distributors and merchants, so I know where growth gets stuck at each stage.
What the Growth Score measures
Who I help
Manufacturers
Range reviews you can't get into, reps dropping off catalogues, and a merchant deciding what the trade ever sees.
How I help manufacturersMerchants
The wagons of heavy side get the attention. The light side, where the profit is, sits half empty.
How I help merchantsDistributors
Suppliers testing direct, merchants buying harder, and a range that grew faster than anyone could manage.
How I help distributorsWhere trade sales leak
None of them shows up as a line on the P&L. That's why they last.
An empty peg on a quiet Tuesday. The customer doesn't ask. They go up the road, and they take the rest of their order with them.
“Have you placed that order yet?”
The reorder levels are set in the system. Nobody uses them, because the next wagon of plasterboard always comes first.
Discounts given by habit, rebates nobody tracks, and a price conversation that starts before anyone's talked about value.
The Growth Score
A builders' merchant, three branches · growth has stalled
Solid in places, leaking in others.
How it works
Twenty-four questions across six stages. Your report arrives by email straight away: where you're strong, where you're leaking, what to do first.
Thirty minutes on your two weakest stages. You'll leave with the first fix, whether or not we ever work together.
If there's work worth doing, you get a fixed scope and a fixed price before anything starts. A defined change at the end, not a report that sits in a drawer.

A growth playbook built on the trade counter, not in a PowerPoint
He has the ability to cut through the crap and get straight to the heart of things. If you want it told like it is, then Jamie is who I would recommend.
I was struck by his friendly, straightforward approach and immediately felt we'd be able to trust him. He is as interested in our bottom line as he is in [his employer's], all without pushing anything on anyone.
Jamie is a very professional, knowledgeable, and energetic expert in the field of online sales management. I have worked in partnership with him developing online sales strategies for our businesses and he always delivers beyond expectations and within time frames.
Fit
Book a call
A diagnostic call, not a sales pitch. Two minutes of questions beforehand so I arrive briefed.
The diagnostic call is free. The Lost Sales Audit is £1,800 for two days. The other three are priced on the How it works page, and the final scope is agreed before anything starts. Mileage is charged at 55p a mile. Other travel, such as trains and flights, and accommodation are charged at cost where needed.
Thirty minutes, on video or the phone. Two minutes beforehand for four questions, so I arrive briefed and we don't waste the first ten minutes.
Yes. Nothing you share goes anywhere, and I'll sign an NDA before I see a number. I also work with one merchant per trading area, so the work never turns up at your competitor.
You'll know on the call, and so will I. If I'm not the right person, I'll say so, and tell you who is if I know them.
